KEITH LANDS A LEAD ROLE IN TOMORROW WHEN THE WAR BEGAN
One of Derrick Talent Elite’s up and coming young stars Keith Purcell has landed himself a lead role on a new ABC3 series called Tomorrow When the War Began. He will be playing the role of Chris.
Keith also trains at Active Performance Studio and went on the Stella Adler Intensive Workshop with APS last year. He was then rewarded with a scholarship to train at the world famous acting school in Hollywood. However, Keith will now have to put that on hold momentarily, as he gets ready to shoot the TV series adapted from the popular series of books. “Everything over the past few years with the trip to Stella Adler in LA and continuing all my studying with acting classes has prepared myself for this opportunity and now it’s all starting to feel real.” Keith said.
Keith also recently played the role of Bryce Bukowski on Neighbours. He has also had roles on the popular comedy Mad as Hell, feature film What Time Is My Heart? And appeared in a Coles commercial. He said this about booking his next role. “I was shocked when I got the call. And I really want to thank Pete and everyone in the office for all their efforts and continually pushing me and telling me that awesome things are coming, and now they are.”
Everyone in the office is really excited for Keith who really deserves this. He is a fun and sensible young man and has been working very hard at his craft for years now. “The first couple of days this week when doing the table read and checks, it kinda made me realise that this is all real and that’s what has gotten me really excited. It’s such an honour to work with such a high level of talented actors and an amazing director. I can’t wait until we start filming, the script is pretty epic and there’s some really exciting things happening throughout the series.” Keith said.
The TV show follows a group of teenagers who return from a camping trip to learn that their country has been invaded by a foreign enemy, and they’ve been separated from their families.
The series will be directed by Brendan Maher, who has an extensive resume of television credits and also helmed the kids feature film Return To Nim’s Island.
Also a big congratulations to all the actors who auditioned and had call backs, especially Taylor, who also trains at Active Performance Studio and made it to the final three for the character of Lee. So so close Taylor. Next time mate.
Tomorrow, When the War Began will commence shooting on location in and around Melbourne from September 14. The series will air on ABC3 in 2016.
